Barrette		Fastens over the hair with a pinch-close clasp.
Alligator clip		A long hinged clip with a narrow jaw. Pinch one end to open and close it.
Claw clip		A spring-loaded clip with interlocking teeth.
Snap clip		A flat metal clip that bends open and snaps shut.
Bobby pin		A small two-pronged pin, usually with one wavy side, great for tidying small pieces of hair and discretely securing up-dos.
Hair pin		A U-shaped pin used for buns and updos. Larger decorative versions may also be called hair forks.
Hair comb		A decorative accessory with teeth that slide into the hair.
Hair stick		A stick-style pin woven through a bun or twist.
