You will need to bake your clay in an oven at 275°F for approximately 20 minutes.
If you don’t want to use oven-baked clay, you could opt for air-dry clay, such as 'Das,' which is usually found next to polymer clay on the shelf at the craft store. This type of clay is typically gray and will require painting after it has dried for 24 hrs, so be sure to add red acrylic paint to your shopping list as well.
Once your clay mushrooms have cooled you can start painting your project. Use white acrylic paint to touch up the mushroom stalk, plus add the spots on the red mushroom caps.
Finally use a pair of round nose pliers to create a loop with the headpin at the top of each mushroom and add french hook earwire before you close the loop. Secure the headpin wire with a couple of turns around the bottom of the loop and cut with your wire cutters.
