Who we share your data with
Information about our customers is important to our business. We share your personal information for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
We use trusted third party service providers. Such as:
Our website hosting service, Siteground, whereby back-ups are routinely performed: https://www.Siteground.com/privacy
Business transfers. If I sell or merge my business, I may disclose your information as part of that transaction, only to the extent permitted by law.
Compliance with laws. I may collect, use, retain, and share your information if I have a good faith belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce my agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of my customers, or others.
How we store your data
Hugs Beads securely stores your data on this website using Siteground hosting service for routine back-ups which is protected with SSL encryption and WAF (web application Firewall). Other software we use to process orders are backed up securely using Google Cloud which uses encryption to protect data in transit and at rest. Data in transit to G Suite is protected using HTTPS, which is activated by default for all users. G Suite and Google Cloud Platform services encrypt customer content stored at rest, without any action required from customers, using one or more encryption mechanisms. Additional information on Google Cloud data storage can be found here: https://cloud.google.com/security/gdpr/?tab=tab4
How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register an account on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. This information is retained for as long as the account is active.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where we send your data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
We may store and process your information through third-party hosting services in the US and other jurisdictions. As a result, We may transfer your personal information to a jurisdiction with different data protection and government surveillance laws than your jurisdiction. If we are deemed to transfer information about you outside of the EU, We rely on Privacy Shield as the legal basis for the transfer, as Google Cloud is Privacy Shield certified.
